Gregory at the Bayou
09/19/11

Gregory at the Bayou Oil on canvas, 8” x 10”
Gregory Blaine is a connector in the local music community, a heart centered presence as interested in helping others share their talent as in sharing his own. In response to a serious medical condition the community came out in full force to celebrate at a benefit event in his honor.
I’ve been wanting to do a series of paintings of musicians and dancers from photos I’ve taken at the Blue Bayou over the years. The event motivated me to make a start at it - and I’m delighted the painting fetched a tidy sum for the cause.
Comfort Zone Uexplored Territory
03/07/10

You Are Here Acrylic and graphite on canvas, 8” x 10”
Comfort Zone or Unexplored Territory?
Precipitating an affair of the heart,
pursuing a sustaining vocation,
or perusing a menu at any upstanding sit-down restaurant,
one is inevitably confronted with the choice...
Stay in your comfort zone?
Stray into uncharted territory?
Your true calling could be either. Be Gentle. Be Bold. Order what you really want.
Trifling Exception

Trifling Excepton Acrylic and graphite on canvas, 8” x 10”
It is well to remember that the entire universe, with one trifling exception, is composed of others.
~ John Andrew Holmes, a physician and writer, best known for Wisdom in Small Doses (1927)
Let’s keep some perspective, shall we.
